The Beautiful Actor

Though October of the previous year
The memory of her still lingers
A beauty strangely distracting
An impression left on the heart
Would the old me disappear?
As my heart felt no fear

Her smile suggests love and kindness
A beautiful soul living within
Though her eyes hint at sadness
She hides through laughter
As she lit up the night
It was quite a sight

She was the freshest breeze
To the cobwebs of my heart
Filling me with pure joy
No longer swimming against the tide
She felt so beautiful and new
If only it could have been true

Alas, on return to England
She has all but disappeared
Leaving just a lingering touch
On my tired worn heart
And still I can’t forget her
The beautiful actor
